random stuff

first of all, what a week. Monday started with some misunderstanding that lasted for two days and caused me unnecessary stress. Long story short, my colleague posted on facebook that she was annoyed with a team member who didn't want to do her assignment. Since she was an ultra-sensitive person, i wondered whether i had said something wrong when i whined about the assignment on facebook that annoyed her. turned out that she was bugged by somebody else. okay then. Then on Wednesday we had our quarterly performance evaluation. I always hated evaluation, cos to me it's just a trick to prevent you from asking for increment by making you feel that you're not worth your price. Indeed, my performance grade didn't improve much, but they said i showed a lot of promise and that they would give me more responsibilities this year (what a paradox huh?). So yeah, it wasn't very bad. Still, I feel a bit blue cos my contract will end in 4 months and I don't have any back-up plans if i can't reach a satisfying agreement with my boss. My other translation job (which I put a lot of hope in) seems to be as good as over, what with the editor not offering me to translate any more books. I wonder if she doesn't want to use me anymore or whether she only thinks i'm too busy with my fulltime job to translate another book. And there are those annoying tax forms to fill and submit by the end of next month, which may get me in trouble if i don't get it right (this is my first experience with filling returns and I really have no clue on how to do it).

just changed my blog layout again and it never gets any easier each time. I loved my previous layout but i hated that the title went all wrong. So i tried uploading new layout and followed all the instructions to avoid the darn bx error code that always showed up whenever i replaced old blog template, but this time it didn't work. It took me hours before i figured out how to solve the problem (i.e. by changing the widget names), and after finally applying the new layout successfully, i discovered that i couldn't paste my widget codes properly to the HTML of the new layout and have to re-add them manually all over again. sigh. If wordpress.com hadn't been so stingy on layouts, i wouldn't have switched. ah well...at least now i have a nice new layout with the right title size :)
