the end of innocence

I was never really a fan of Michael Jackson, but I did grow up with his music and videos. So when he came to his tragic end, it was kinda shattering in a way. It was shocking because it feels like an end to an era, and it was sad because despite all his weirdness, it's undeniable that he's such a huge, unparalleled talent.

And tonight, Michael's tragic story kinda reminds me of another fairy tale destroyed. Not in physical death maybe, but in symbolic death where you can no longer recognize a person you loved. Another example of what fame and fortune can do to previously innocent and pure soul.

Watch this video and compare the uber-cute skinny white boy with the guy he has become. Let's hope that he will not go down MJ's road.

p.s: thank you Michael for writing this song and many more great ones.

Personally, I think the whole innocent and pure persona was just that, a persona. I've come to realize he never was either of those things.

I believe that it's not his personality that's changed, but what he's willing to show the public, and that conflicts with the kind of person we thought he was.

Still sad.
